iJailBreakMobile v1.0: over-the-air updater for iPhone, iPod Touch

iPhone - Image 1Things are moving pretty fast on the iPhone Jailbreak scene as evidenced by the newly-released iJailBreakMobile 1.0, an over-the-air updater for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch.

iJailBreakMobile is perhaps the easiest app of its kind to use. It doesn’t require the use of a computer, so operating system problems are basically nonexistent. This also fixes the File Not Found error as well as PowerPC compatibility issues.

To use iJailBreakMobile, your device must already have a jailbroken installation of 1.1.1 or 1.1.2. Here are the instructions on how to Jailbreak your iPhone or iPod Touch over the air, taken from the iJailBreak website:

To jailbreak, go into Installer.app, tap sources at the bottom right, then Edit at the top right, then Add at the top left, and add ijailbreak.com/repo.plist. Then, under the iJailBreakMobile category, choose the right upgrade package for you - if you’re on a jailbroken 1.1.1, choose 1.1.1; if you’re on a jailbroken 1.1.2, choose 1.1.2.

The installation should take about 45 minutes, depending on your Internet connection. Once done, the device will try to reboot automatically. If you see that it’s stuck with just the “spinning cog” on the screen, it’s safe to manually reboot the device, at which point you’ll enter into 1.1.3.

NOTE: This will not remove, break, or mess with iPhone activation or unlocks. Everything should work as before.

There are still a few problems when installing iPhone apps after using iJailBreakMobile to upgrade from 1.1.2, but a fix is reportedly in the works. For more information on this app, feel free to visit the source link below.
