Apple unleashes Aperture 2.1 with new plug-in architecture

If you’re a photography enthusiast, then you realize that the perfect shot may not be that perfect after all. This is where photo-editing software comes in - and where Apple’s latest release of Aperture, Aperture 2.1, fits in very well. Let’s check out what this latest iteration of the very handy and very accessible program has.
So, what’s the biggest thing about Aperture 2.1? The fact that it now has a image editing plug-in architecture. This lets photographers to easily integrate and use specialized third party imaging software into Aperture right off the bat. No more searching for functions or watching tutorials!
Is there a catch in here somewhere? Nope. This latest version of Aperture is available immediately as a free software update to current Aperture 2.0 users, and it includes the Apple-developed plug-in, Dodge & Burn. While this may not sound much - it’s just one plug-in, after all - in the coming months, more plug-ins will be available for procurement as well, made by third party developers with the help of Apple. From a plug-in that adjusts color and light to one that removes shine from faces and whitens teeth, the future looks bright indeed.
Again, if you’re a current Aperture 2.0 user, all you have to do is to update it, and you’ll net the plug-in feature free of charge. Updates as we get them, and you can check the via link for more info regarding Aperture.
